III INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON NEW TRENDS IN SOCIAL SCIENCES: THE MIDDLE EAST IN THE CONTEXT OF PAST AND FUTURE

The region, which historically has been home to great civilizations and is now called the 'Middle East', has always interacted with its surroundings at various levels and forms. This interaction has revealed the need to get to know the region more closely. In this framework, the tradition of Orientalism, which goes back to the 16th century in Europe, has emerged in order to recognize and study people living in the region, their cultures, languages, etc. Naturally, the Middle East and the Middle East society has been defined and researched by people who are not Middle Eastern, living in the Middle East. The purpose of this symposium is to discuss examine Middle Eastern people, cultures, languages, political and economic structures and developments with Middle Eastern scientists and to examine the issue in its source.
